A Year of Stories/Week 22

So I mentioned I was shooting this personal project, 100 Summer Days to capture the feel of our summer, the last summer together as a whole unit before Hannah leaves for college. Here is a recap of my first full week.

A Year of Stories is a collaborative group of storytelling photographers sharing our images and prose with each other and you. Be sure to follow our circle for some inspiration this week. Up next in the circle is my friend Allison Gipson...her images always exude such happiness!!

Last day of school. Last day of 13 years of awards and achievements, hurts and triumphs, projects, homework, tests, reading lists, spring breaks, daunting lunch making, field trips, PTA meetings, backpacks, lockers, gym clothes, alarm clocks...so much led up to now yet it seems like it took a second to get here. Snapped this picture through my tears. It was Senior Day. Her cap and gown in hand for practice, pictures, an awards ceremony. Her senior superlative is "Most likely to get carded when she's 30!" Nice. How is she going to be a grown up when I still don't even think of myself as one. This is the purest definition of bittersweet.
